o       God is described as many things in the bible. He is called many names as well.  These names describe who he is and his characteristics.  Here are some of my favorite descriptions and names.  (This list is by far from exhaustive!)

§         LORD- (title for a noble, Master) I like to use this title for God because it reminds me his is my Master, Lord of my Life.

·        John 20:28 Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"

·        Psalm 72:18 Praise be to the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds.

·        Psalm 89:8 Praise be to the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds.

§         Ancient of Days- This title reminds me that God is eternal.

·        Daniel 7:9 "As I looked, "thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat. His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze.

§         Our Redeemer- (redeem is to buy something back, Redeemer is the person who does the buying) I like this title because it reminds me that Jesus bought me with his blood.  I belong to him.

·        Job 19:25 I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth.

·        Psalm 19:14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.

·        Psalm 78:35 They remembered that God was their Rock, that God Most High was their Redeemer.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.’

John 3:16-17
